This session will look at how we plan for, design and deliver useful public spaces in new developments. We will start by unpacking new research on what people want from public space by Max Farrell of the LDN Collective and Tony Leach and Dr Meredith Whitten of Parks for London before discussing the challenges faced in delivering these aspirations. We will then present ideas on how these challenges can be met in the future and use case studies to illustrate where best practice has already achieved great spaces.
