These sessions provide an opportunity for those working in, or with, home-building local authorities and housing associations, to share ideas, experiences and learn about best practice. We’ll look at digital platforms and the online persona’s responsibility in our organizations, as well as ethical and inclusive communication of design projects in-house and with the broader community.

This is a session for elected members to discuss briefings on planning and viability.  We will hear from MHCLG on the national strategic planning direction and have early insight into the new Planning Practice Guidance and Design Manual to be launched in the autumn.  We will also gain insight into the art of viability and how it is applied, balancing public policy requirements and profit.  This event is a must attend session for decision makers who want to get the best for their neighbourhoods.

With mounting pressure to deliver London’s homes in our green suburban areas, we will discuss the ‘New Kind of Suburbia’ with award winning Metropolitan Workshop.  In collaboration with leading thinkers, including Max Wakefield from Powering Parks Project, we will look at the research undertaken on how best to manage growth in these areas.  After lunch we will look at how CIL can be invested in public spaces, with insight into ‘Planning for urban green space’ with Dr Meredith Whitten.
