A guided site visit to see first-hand Kingston’s recently completed mini-Holland schemes and look at how they work in practice and what we can learn from them – led by Kingston’s very own Chloe Clay and Jean-Christophe Chassard.

Day one of this two-part practical course will provide you with in-depth training on designing and delivering healthy streets for cyclists, focusing on design parameters, degree of separation and how to apply the new Cycle Route Quality Criteria. The session is led by our experts; Phil Jones (PJA), Lucy Marstrand (Project Centre) and Gordon Webster (TfL). In the afternoon we will hit the streets to explore the recently completed Cycleways.

  • Understand and apply the design parameters that shape good cycle schemes
  • Learn how to determine the degree of separation between cyclists and other road users
  • Hear about applying the new Cycle Route Quality Criteria
